oh em gee guys. first of all, why do i say 'guys' as if more than three people read this...
second, i am so sorry all three of you!
so many things have happened in the time i have been away!
i just don't know how i will fit all the fun and excitement into a single post!
ah! the struggles in life!
well to begin, JSB?
or, junior senior banquet
my parents and i were blessed with the honor of making the sr video this year!
[the creation process was actual hell]
but after all the blood sweat and tears, the outcome could not have been better!
special GO YOU to Linda and Jon.
they rule.
but besides that, the night was wonderful.
was great to honor the seniors for an evening.
we will miss you all so much.
(the beautiful senior i had the privilege of 'shadowing'. my bff, Shae.)
everyone lookin fly.
even the silly boys...
SO. next on the list:
(drumroll please...)
YEARBOOK CONVENTION!
quite possibly the number one nerdiest thing i have ever taken part in.
so i know your thinking "wow...what a loser..."
but just wait...
the convention was held in...
(you better give me them drums again)
CALIFORNIA!
(cue cheesy california related songs
that we obviously sang throughout the entirety of the trip)
dont ask me what all this drum rolling and cueing is coming from...i'm on a roll okay?
so yes. Anaheim, California.
as a fundamental part of the upcoming editor trio, it was very important to me to go and gain skills in order to make the 2012 yearbook the best book TCA has ever seen.
aslo, we got to go to disneyland..
(editor trio...our hands say 'head honcho'...it didn't come off for two weeks)
the current misconception floating around is that we actually did noting on this trip.
though my previous comment may have slightly egged on this thought,
i'll just set the record straight..
WE DID STUFF. >:(
there were strong ups and harsh downs on this adventure to california..
as you can see...not always the best of times.
waking up at 7:30 am and going to seminars entitled things like 'design quest'
was a bit of a down...
we mean business though. name tags and all.
but in all seriousness, the seminars helped a lot
and were always followed by things to make them seem worth it.
like Bubba Gump!
so delicious.
and this is us before dinner one night!
cheesecake factory. again. delicious.
but.
on one of these glorious early mornings,
my dear 10th grade friend logan and i,
(thats Logan)
were asked to attend a class on photography!
this is perfect because we both enjoy taking photos right?
THINK AGAIN!
the whole class was sent to a farmers market/craft fair (plus karaoke) for
FOUR HOURS.
like hour number one was okay..
two- yeah its whatever
three- wow lets go
four- why the hell are we still here guys...
we pretty much took photos of the exact same things over. and over. and over again.
strawberries.
flowers.
random humans.
logan being a goof...
you get the picture...
(pun intended)
so after all these hours 'in the field'
it was time to process back in the 'lab'.
turned out our teachers were real critical and liked nothing...
also....(cue 'dum dum dum')
there was a particular boy in our class that, in all honestly, i was maybe too close to killing...
we didn't know his name so we identified him as landscape boy.
thats him.
note my annoyed face :(
he gained this name due to his constant need to remind us of his strange obsession
with taking photos of landscapes.
when the boy first told me of the obsession,
my response was obviously "that sounds boring"
this did not sit well with him...
later in the day we discovered his other flaws like:
-talking to people when they aren't listening
-being a suckup/teachers pet
-criticizing other peoples photos when its not asked
ETC >:(
logans art.
he thought he was king of our teachers flash drive...
grr..
but anyway! back to some ups!
disneyland!
what a magical place.
we went to 'downtown disney' after our first day of work
and had the most wonderful mexican food!
the place had an awesome balloon artist working there!
princess Peyton loved her crown.
later in the week when we actually went to the land of disney..
we. went. hard.
from 12 pm to 12 am it was non stop fun.
princesses were stalked.
ears were bought.
teacups were ridden.
and loved. obsessions were made.
seriously we LOVE space mountain.
next time you find yourself at disneyland...
dont fear the hour and a half long line.
its worth it.
we gazed at the fairs wheel, or 'mikeys fun wheel'
for our break time.
also, some got henna!
the one on the bottom (victoria) means 'spicy'.
it was a beautiful afternoon in cali
we ended up going on lots of other rides after the sun left us
and we had some food in our stomachs.
indiana jones
and space mountain (again)
...almost two hour wait this time...
worth it. over all, the trip was wonderful.
lots of knowledge was obtained and laughs were shared :)
though i thought i could fit it all in...
i can't.
tune in
(no ones listening to anything so that makes no sense...)
next time!
love love love
heather.
